  • Great series - thanks.

I work for a small software company and need to deliver SSAS database structures to clients. We do this by generating an XMLA script to create the database structure and then modifying the SQL connection information in the script to meet the clients requirements.

We then ship the script to the client who runs it via SSMS and then performs a full process on the dimensions and cubes to pick up their data.

  • This is a very good and very clear overview - I like especially the explanation as to why each technique should be used.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Hello!

I've been working with BI/DW since 1999. Most of this time with SQL Server (since version 7 beta and Olap Services).

I want to thank the author for this kind of articles about this product that changed a lot since that time.

    Thanks a lot.

Thanks for pointing that out irshadmohideen, I have requested Steve Jones(the editor in chief here) to correct it.
