Hello All,

My Windows cmd line application cannot log in to my db, using a password that contains special character '¤'.

However if I log in using management studio, it works fine.

It also works fine if I use passwords without special characters.

The application is written in java, and is passed as a connection string; Strings in java, I know is UNICODE.

1. Does anyone know how to check what character set SQL Server is using?

2. I think there may be something wrong in the translation of the password between certain character sets, and I was wondering if anyone here knows how to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance....
Harriet
