Error Registering server

    When I try to register my local server(my computer name) on my local machine I get the following error.

    SQL Server does not exist or access denied ConnectionOpen (Connect())

    It used to work fine..I took my laptop home and brought it back to my work...and something got messed up...

    Can you please help?

    BTW, I can register and connect to other servers on the network..Just the local server is having problem.

    could it be that the SQL Service got stopped and is not running on your laptop now? go to control panel?Administrative Tools/Services, and make sure your SQLServer is running, then try to reconnect.

    Its running..I am able to connect to the Sql server in Network drive..just not on my local..

    I am using SQL Srver Express edition if that helps
