sys.transmission_queue Problem

  While executing following query...

  "select transmission_status from sys.transmission_queue;"

  Either it is executing for aal the time and not completed or showing following error

  "A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)"

  Not able to figure out the problem. plz help
