  • Hi,

I would to know, how do you get 3 .mdf files in a bak. Whether you will be able to create more than one .mdf file for a database or whether any changes has been made to the screen shot which is shown in the picture.

    Please clarify it.

    Regards

    Kumar

  • Good series in making....

  • Good article, thanks

  • I like the step by step approach for learners...

  • hi Mak,

I'm too curious to know, how a single .bak file is listing 3 .mdf file.

Have you just made any change to the screen shot of the picture?

    Let me know about it

    Regards

    Kumar

  • you can create a database with 3 data file and 2 log file very easily. ".MDF" is just a file name extension. You can create a data file with .XYZ as extension.

Kumar, instead of waiting hours for the answer from MAK, why not create a database with 3 mdf files and 2 log files and back it up and see the result. since database is empty it should not take more than 1 minute to back it up. It just takes less than 3 minutes to get answer.

Do some R & D and you will get results instantly.

    SQL DBA.
