Azure Information Protection

  • I'm not sure this subject rightfully goes in this group, but it's the closest one I can find to the question I need to ask.

Our corporate office has applied Azure Information Protection to our Exchange servers / user-generated emails. We now have to classify all our emails as public, internal, confidential, etc. But our sql server emails (SQL 2012 right now, but will be 2017 on our next upgrade) do not have these classifications. I'd like to use this tool to make dbmail classify the emails automatically so replies amongst the IT set don't require additional button clicking, but also so our users who are on these emails know how sensitive the data in specific emails are.

Has anyone ever applied AIP to dbmail? If so, do you have any advice?

Initial searches this morning have not yielded any gold on this specific subject, but I have yet to figure out how to refine my Google-fu. Any thoughts in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.
