Hi all
I've just set up replication to move data from server A to server B (I've kept the database names the same on both servers).
One thing I've just noticed (from watching the replication monitor) that I found very odd is as follows:-
Table A contains 40 million records and replication sends them across in (approx) 2 million records chunks
Table B contains 40K records and replication sends them across in (approx) 2K chunks)
The above is from the initial bulk insert task during replication setup.
I would have thought the number of records to send across would have been fairly static (for similar tables) but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Can someone shed some light on this please?
I've googled it but couldn't find anything remotely resembling my question.
