Need a solution to set up replication between DC and DR

  • Hi,
I am using MS SQL Server 2012 version.
I have 2 Always on groups, 1 in DC and another in DR.
How can set  up replication  between  a database  with in DC and DR.

I studied that the  Distributed Always on  is available only from 2016 version.

    You help is greatly appreciated.

With as little information as is provided, not much we can do.  Based on what you have posted I would make the assumption that you are not familiar with replication and the various options available.  If this is the case it would be better to hire a consultant to come in and help you setup replication rather than relying on the internet to help you accomplish this.  In the end you are the one that has to support what you setup, and a consultant can be tasked with providing documentation to assist in troubleshooting issues.

  • You haven't really provided enough information.
I assume you mean you have two Always On Availability Groups, but if that's the case, please call them that or call them AGs. Differentiate if these are databases or AGs (groups). When you say DC and DR, do you mean you have cluster nodes in a data center (DC) or Washington DC? Do you mean that you have a disaster recovery (DR) data center or the Dominican Republic (DR)?

If you want to replicate data, what are you looking to replicate? If you have the Sales database in your AG, are you trying to replicate tables from there to a new database? Perhaps you want to read this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/availability-groups/windows/configure-replication-for-always-on-availability-groups-sql-server?view=sql-server-2017
