I'm close to completing my scripted backup plan, I now need to take care of transferring files to an offsite location and purging said files when they are no longer required.
I want this process to be handed directly by the SQL Server. I'm aware of transferring all files through RoboCopy execution, however, I'd like to prevent instances where a backup which was manually run (externally from my maintenance plan) from transferring.
I was curious as to what would be the most efficient method in terms of transferring backups to an offsite location and then purging the relevant backups called from my scripts.
