SQL Standard Cluster

  • Hi,

I am looking at deploying a SQL Standard Cluster in AWS using SIOS DataKeeper. Anyone know if i can use the AWS SQL AMI and pay as you go licence for this ? I know I can run the SQL setup.exe to launch the SQL Server failure cluster installation but it asks for the installation media. I have read that AWS Support can supply this in a snapshot if you raise a support request, does anyone know if this is correct?

You can always upload the media yourself to S3 and download it to the EC2 instance providing you have the media.  That's how we have been managing it, but we do build our own clusters rather than using the AWS Supplied Windows + SQL AMI.
