SQL Server Setup -Unable to generate a temporary class

  • TITLE: SQL Server Setup failure.
    ------------------------------

    SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:

    Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1).
    error CS1567: Error generating Win32 resource: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.hts

    i am trying to install sqlserver r2 on a windows 7 machine . i am getting the above error. i checked for full access control on temp folder . both the Admin and Administartor has full rights

    still the same issue

  • Did  you run the setup program "as Administrator" ?
    Did you give the machine a fresh re-boot before attempting the installation?

    Okay, how about the SQL Server Setup Files...  Does it successfully install those?
    Did the failure allow you to attempt to retry?   I would also go to a command prompt
    ahead of the next install attempt and do a NET FILES command and see if you have
    anything showing there and then disconnect anything that might interfere..   Beyond
    those basics, you might want to re-run the check that makes sure you can successfully
    install.  And beyond that, I run out of suggestions...
