Who has an idea on the impact of backup encryption on the server performance during the backup operation in terms of CPU, RAM
Another question please is that the time taken to do encrypted backup is the same taken on a non-encrypted saviorthank you for your feedback experience

It really depends on your hardware specification and what else is running on the server at the time. The best thing to do is to test it yourself as no-one here knows the specs of your server.

Encrypting a backup shouldn't impact memory at all as the same pages will need to be read into memory, there will be small hit in CPU use, probably < 5%, and I would bet more like 1%. If data security is a concern then that type of hit is usually acceptable.

As Jack mentioned, some CPU hit. Depending on what you've enabled, I'd think this is less than 5% more than a regular backup, but your system could be different. The values stored will affect encryption.
Also keep in mind you may lose some comprehensibility, depending on version.
The backup may be slightly larger, so more disk space + io.
ultimately, test it.
