SSMS doesn't launch

  • Hi,

I have a problem with SSMS 17, I click on the icon, I wait for the splash screen, and finally nothing happens.
I don't know why it happens, if some addins could affect this...
    Any idea ?

    Thanks for your help!

Is this a new installation or has it worked okay before? You could try logging the start up and see if you can find issues in the log.
Start  ssms.exe from the command line adding -log <filename> to log the start up to the file you specify.

It worked okay before, but I updated to SSMS 17.6 in order to resolve the problem, without results.
I tried your -log syntax, and I have a log but I don't know where to look... I've joined the file, if you have an idea.
    Thanx a lot!
