SSDT 2017 problem - Tabular Project - “Import From Data Source” disabled

    I can't import any data, after creating a new Tabular project in SSDT 2017. The button "Import From Data Source" is inactive.
    Moreover, Tabular Model Explorer window is hidden from the very beginning and can't be displayed. It is also disabled (grayed out) in menu "View -> Other Windows". I run SSDT as administrator.

    I think that it may somehow refer to this problem. When I double click on the file "Model.bim", I get the following error: Value canot be null. Parameter name: serviceProvider

    I use Integrated Workspace and 1400 compatibility level options when creating a new project.
    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling SSDT, then repairing. However, nothing helps and the problem persists.
    Could you please give me a hint what is wrong and what should I do to fix the problem?

    Hi

    What version of visual studio SSDT are you using?

    There was or is an problem with version 15.6 where you would get this error. If you are on this version I would recommend upgrading to version 15.6.1 which I am running and  tested and I can create tabular projects according to your description.
