Title: Development Database Administrator
Summary of Position
LBMX is seeking a Senior MSSQL Development Database Administrator who will work under the direction of the CTO to maintain and enhance the companies existing MSSQL database environment.
Start Date: ASAP
Term: Full Time
Location: No moving necessary, we accept Canadian or US based remote employees
Skills and Responsibilities
· SQL server performance monitoring and tuning: Closely monitor performance; identify problems and implement solutions; ensure the database is running at optimum speed and efficiency via effective use of indexing, table design, and configuration of the server
· Guide and oversee the database design process as needed: Research and recommend optimal design criteria; publish standards and work with development staff; standardize environment and improve efficiency
· Database change management: Review and implement all changes to database structures, while ensuring the integrity of the data and maintaining data availability as requires by service level agreements
· Assist the development team
· Reorganize database structures as needed: Automate procedures at regular intervals; use tools to reorganize or defragment database table spaces, tables, and indexes; provide efficient database environment to maximize productivity and improve performance
Qualifications
· Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Database Administration
· Minimum seven (7) years’ experience administering MS SQL Server
· Elasticsearch Administration knowledge is an asset
