Please advise if the differential backups are the only way in log shipped environment as the trans log backups will break the LS backup chain . Thank you .

What? Your question makes no sense.

Log shipping uses log backups. That's it. A full is required (or full+diff) to get the system setup, but log shipping moves transaction log backups to the secondary and restores them.
This does not break the log chain.

If you mean backups in regards to the primary, you can do full and/or differentials. It does not affect the log chain.
You don't want another set of log backups outside of the log shipping process - that is what breaks the log chain.
