I used to work for an environmental engineering company and they had something similar for larger projects that took more resources than one firm could provide. They created the company and it existed for the duration of the design-build project.

ERD or two that actually matched the database system. Interesting concept but always a moving target.

What a fascinating idea; flash organizations! I never thought of such an idea. I wonder how prevalent it will become? I work in state government, which involves unions. From what I read both in your article, Steve, and the linked to piece on flash organizations, I'm certain that unions will fight this tooth and nail.
