Ok, I have 'invested' in the measure up practice tests to guide me here as there are no books on it, hoping to knock this one out the park fairly quickly. I'll be having a look the MVA as well. Let me know when you get started, I might have a few resources by then that I can put your way.

Swap notes, talk about areas of study, ask questions. You know, be generally social, in the certification forum. The forum where people talk about what they are studying, how they are finding it, swap resources. Surprised you asked really.

yeah just passed this, it's kind of a huge learning curve for the common on-premise DBAs (like me) who are used to on-premise setup.

But the learning experience will open your eyes, and the exam is no longer about SQL, you will have other platforms such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and other coding language (mostly powershell), Azure portal interface, Service Tiers, VM Sizes and features and lots of new Jargons like eDTUs, ACU, elastic query, etc.

And most importantly, knowing the difference between IaaS-hosted SQL databases (on a Azure VM) vs. Azure SQL database (PaaS) as the solutions may be applicable on one but not on another (there were a lot of trick questions like this)

Don't be surprised... I was asking because a lot of people have demonstrated that they want to game the system rather than do it the right way. Glad to see that you're not working in that direction.

Congrats on the pass! I am using measure up, as well as online resources and general practice. Did you use measure up? I'm not sure they are all that great, spelling mistakes and unfinished sentences in the answers etc.

I did this (and thank fully passed it 75% I think) however it is a tricky exam, I honestly thought I'd failed! Many questions I was scratching my head! :crazy:
There are TONS of Azure and powershell based questions (as you would expect).

I paid for a measure-up practice questions but not sure it helped as none of the question types/format in the practice were in the exam. Go figure. I don't expect like for like but similar setup, structure would have been nice. The first 10-15 questions you couldn't go back so you had to answer then move on and hope it wasn't wrong. :ermm:

What did help was my Azure subscription (I have MS Action Pack) so I get $100 a month so I can play with stuff, create VMs, Azure SQL Database, etc, etc. I think you can get a $50 one with visual studio developer tools.

Armed with that pick something from course requirements and play with it to death. Then go onto the next one. That's what worked for me.
