SSRS 2016 on Azure VM

  • Hi Guys,

Has anyone got their SSRS on an Azure VM? I'm looking into spinning one up to replace our current version of SSRS.

Could you advise on what size VM I need or point me in the direction where I could find out.

There will be around 400 users with around 40,000 report executions a month.

    I appreciate any advice.

And where will the data be located?   Just moving SSRS into the cloud without moving it's source databases there as well could be highly impractical.   You're also looking at a rather high-volume reporting scenario, given the 40,000 number, which as 1333 reports per day, on average.   That's an awful lot of volume, and how much data will be generated as output from those?   Anyone taken a good look at how much network bandwidth that currently uses?
