  Hi there.  I have made an SSIS package to move some data for archival from one table to another (copy then delete).  I'm afraid that a developer will add a new column to the source without my knowledge.  That would be very bad because then data would be lost if the package isn't updated to include the new column.

  I've found that there is a nice warning if I add a new column to the source table and then open my SSIS package. "The external columns for Source are out of synchronization with the data source columns".  That is great but then the package still runs. I'd like the SSIS package to stop and fail if the columns in the source table have changed in any way.  Is that possible?
