Visual Studio 'Code Compare' syntax highlighting

  • Good morning,

I didn't really know where to post this so please feel free to move it if it's in the wrong location.

I'm looking to find the extension which adds syntax highlighting into visual studio when doing a code review for SQL code, at the moment if I click on a file it will add in the highlighting normally but if I go in via the compare window for a code review the syntax is all black.

I've installed SQL data tools but I could have sworn to get the code to highlight involved a separate ad don but I cannot remember what it was.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I could be very wrong, but are you thinking of SQL Prompt from Redgate?

  • Thanks for the reply (I enjoy your books by the way 🙂

No it's not that.. but rather an addon (or maybe even a setting I'm missing) which allows the keywords in a code review / code compare against a previous version to have the SQL syntax color coded  in the same way it would when you click on the file normally.

At the moment the compare window shows all of the text in black.

    Thanks,

  • Thank you!

I'm not sure then. Sorry I can't help.
