    Some spicy banter floating around!

This was a good question for me, as I am a complete idiot. Nice to feel like I am a boss by smashing this one out the park.

  • Wow - never new this one, and I'm all about keyboard shortcuts. Moving the splitter was never satisfactory, so for years I've been closing the file and reopening, just so I could get a full edit window without results. D'oh!

  • Works in SSMS 2014 as well.

Works in SSMS 2014 as well.

    ... and 2012, and 2008 R2.

  • Yeah, if you're ever writing queries longer than 50 lines, you have to know this one..

  • And it works in SSMS 2005 and 2008.  I use keyboard shortcuts all the time, so I thought this one was too simple and was looking for the trick.  As of now, 83% have gotten it correct, so I'm not alone.

  • Yeah, really simple. Thanks, Steve!

  • Has anyone lost this (and other) shortcut? In my work laptop I'm not able to hide the results, but I'm not sure if an add-in removed the functionality.

    That happened to me recently
I had to uninstall and reinstall SSMS for it to work again

  • Probably my second most frequently used keyboard shortcut - right after alt-x.
