Question about potential role - Data Mapping

  • Currently I am working as a SR BA for a large corporation doing all sorts of task. I am a data steward / business intelligence development (SSAS/SSIS). Along with building master data views for our business and over all querying the database if there isn't a report etc.

My end game is to move into a data architect position, but realize I am still a ways out.

I was recently reached out by a recruiter for a 3 year data conversion project. The position is primary data mapping and transforming.

The pay is significantly higher but my main concern is staying on track with my goal which is, data architect.

Does this sound like a natural transition or derailment? Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

Here are some of the bullets

Perform source to target data mapping of client files including data transformations using SQL
