PacktPub, a well known but smaller publisher, provides a free eBook every day. I believe it is a loss leader that they run in an attempt to generate more sales. Each book is only available for free for one day. There is no obligation, beyond registering, when getting a copy of this book.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads-up on this one. It even has a section on calls to the incredible WMI functionality that's been available at the DOS level for what seems like forever.
