The AWS documentation about how DMS works with MSSQL source and MSSQL target is vague to say the least. Can anyone answer the following:
1. For full load, where does the data come from? In native SQL replication it comes from a snapshot. In DMS what is the equivalent of the native SQL replication snapshot?
2. For CDC where does the change data come from? DMS appears to create a native SQL publication and log reader task. Does the change data therefore come from the distribution database, as in native SQL replication? (If so why does DMS require full recovery model? Native SQL replication does not require full recovery model.)
