Hi,

I have availability group let call it AG1, that span 3 VMS all hosting a single sqlserver (2012) instance.

This AG needs to talk to a remote sqlserver instance (not part of an AG).

I looked at this web page.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlserverfaq/archive/2015/07/29/setting-up-service-broker-where-the-initiator-database-is-part-of-the-ag.aspx

All was well until step 7, where it says to back up the service master key of the primary replica
and restore onto the secondary replica.

Can someone confirm that this really is requirement for my scenario?

I also need to use TDE on this servers, so I'm holding on until I know for sure.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Fred.
