Hi
I am trying to understand the Performance Point dashboards.
I think Cube is the best data source to work with
we can also connect to various sources like Excel, SQL Server, Excel Services from SharePoint...etc.
I don't see any use of the non-analytic data source, I cant create any thing with these.
I see the report items are of Analytic Chart, report...etc. which I am not able to really tie the data source.

Performance Point only works good for SSAS Cube only?

Thank You
Rob Taylor

You can connect to regular SQL Server tables. We do that in a rare instance where we want to populate a filter with some options we've put into a table.

HTH,
Rob
