What happen to Service Broker Queue?

  • Here is my situation, I have a Service Broker Queue with at least 250 messages not processed yet as a backlog. Everything works normal and these messages will be processed normally. Suddenly, my database server crashed and windows server box restarting. After a while, Windows comes back and SQL Server Engine is ready for business. Here is my question,

What will happen to my 250 unprocessed messages after restart?

Will it be still available in the queue as not processed and ready to be processed?

Or, will it be wiped out and queue will have no messages to process and I have to initiate the process queue with new messages?

I appreciate the expert knowledge on this matter.

    Thanks.

  • The messages will still be there.
