Have you SSIS stairways been updated for SSDT_BI because the environment has been changed substantially?

The layout has changed, but the way SSIS works is largely the same.

The biggest changes are the project deployment model and parameters.

  • Sorry, but I don't agree. The interface changes are very substantial and for those learning this would significantly degrade the value of the tutorials. I presume they are aimed at those learning the product and if as you suggest the basic concepts remain the same then it would not be a major effort to rework them using accurate screenshots of the current release. The product depicted is over 5 years old and should we replaced with the current release.

I suspect the changes are greater than you have implied and need to be revised for the benefit of their intended purpose unless this site assumes that most new users will start out with BIDS?

I note that on the Microsoft MSDN site when you select SSDT-BI and drill down into tutorials you quickly end up with instructions applicable to BIDS and SQL Server 2008 R2. All of this content should have been refreshed by Microsoft BEFORE product release and we await patiently for them to get their act together.
