Running out of space on active/pasive cluster (physical servers attached to SAN). netops added new drive, I see the new drive as a clustered resource, see it in disk manager, can't see it explorer. Management studio can't see drive, but I could backup to the drive by typing letter. Looked at dependencies in sql resoruce for drive, none set for any of the drives including new one. This seems kind of a mixed issue, but this is on a production server.

The reason you're not able to 'see' the drive through SSMS is that it needs to be added as a dependency to the SQL Server clustered resource. Are you able to try this and see if resolves your issue? Not sure why you're not seeing this in explorer.

if you're looking in explorer on the node where the disk is not online you won't see it.

little scary but went into cluster admin and noticed no dependencies on any of the drives

Just to confirm you're looking at the dependencies for the SQL Server cluster resource? If that's the case and there are no disks present as dependencies then you definitely need to add these in, this will be all shared drives that SQL Server will need to used.

Also the SQL Server Network name resource will need to be a added as a dependency too.

yes new job just did not set this one up, however it is a prod server so treading lightly, been a year since I built my last one kind of suprised it works

windows 2008, gets better just sent link to steps to add drive to resource, looks like resource needs to come off line, 1 minute later cluster went down, not sure they understood taking resource offline would take down the cluster.....
