SQL Permissions

  • Hi,

If you do not want to assign db_owner or sysadmin rights to a user. But you want them to be able to do the following below, what permissions will you need to assign to him/her and how would you do this?

    1.DB growth report

    2.DB health report

    3.DB patches/updates outstanding

4.DB upgrades and requirements to complete the upgrades

5.Reporting on DB Dumps and Backups

Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

  • All the tasks you mentioned belong to the DBA.

If you don't want to grant sysadmin permissions to a DBA, you're doing it wrong.
