Stairway to Integration Services

  • I have started learning the basics and it looks brilliant but note that in the examples given, the tables in AdventureWorks are different from the tables I have in AdventureWorks2012 which I am using. For example in the course, the Person.Person table has a column, EmailAddress but in AW2012 this column doesn't exist but has a column called EmailPromotion containing something different. I can't find out which version this series is using. Can anyone enlighten me.

  • Yeah they are different. You need use the DB according to SQL Server Version. They have them from 2005 - 2012.

  • No, still totally confused. I have AdventureWorks 2008, 2008R2 and 2012 and the person.person and person.contact tables are all the same in these versions but they are not the same tables as are used in the Integration Services stairways series.

  • Which of the stairway articles are you looking at? In the second one, he is connecting to the Person.Contact table not the Person.Person table.

  • I'm looking for the version I want right now. There is no person.contact table in AdventureWorks2012. Well, not the version I've got.

  • has no one come up with a solution for this dilemma. It is totally frustrating. I am even willing all the AdventureWorks databes from the beginning to the end go through all of them until i find the persons.contacts table in the AdventureWorks database... It saddens me that the sample databases are not referenced in some of these series's. So helpful but yet vague... :doze:
