Hi all,

Will be taking over some systems that use these, and wondered if there are any best practice checklists to rewriting these, preferably in '08 version.

Cheers,

Research, analysis, testing.

There is no "easy" way to do this and each one requires a unique process to remove it. They just have to be dealt with one at a time.

Agreed. There's just too many variables. Example: I personally only usually use views to consolidate a standard approach to get a particular component of data in an optimal way.

IE: I need everyone with Medicare payments in the last 30 days.

If there's a few dozen views that lean on that single point of logic organization, do you really want to un-nest them?

You have to approach them like any other piece of code. Individually research the effects of removing the nesting and look for code re-usage possibilities that are being leveraged that you're about to destroy and up your maintenance.
