Job Failure running DTS package

  • Hi,

I have a job that runs DTS package which continuously fails with below error. However the package runs successfully. I tried changing the account and recreating the job but it does not work at all. Can somebody please give me some ideas.I would really appreciate your help-

Executed as user:. ...n OnStart: DTSStep_DTSExecuteSQLTask_1 DTSRun OnStart: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_2 DTSRun OnFinish: DTSStep_DTSExecuteSQLTask_1 DTSRun OnStart: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 1000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 1000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 2000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 2000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 3000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 3000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 4000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 4000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 5000 Rows have been transformed or copied.; PercentComplete = 0; ProgressCount = 5000 DTSRun OnProgress: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1; 6000 Rows have been transformed or copied.;... Process Exit Code 1. The step failed.

  • Do you have the step logging on? That truncated version (which you got from the history window) doesn't have the full story.

You need to open the step log and look in there. The error you're looking for will be inside that. My guess? Security. The Job runs the package as the agent, the package runs as you when you trigger it.
