On a log shipped database, my client wants to be able to backup the target database as well as the source.
Is this possible?
Thanks.

On source it is possible but i fear not possible in target server as it will be restoration mode.
why does he want that?

Thanks, grateful for confirmation.
He wants to do it because my client is a busy fool throwing out poorly thought out "solutions" to requirements he hasn't properly analyzed or explained. It's hard to explain the environment & politics I currently work under. It forces me to ask lots of stupid questions on this forum.
I am much obliged!

Hello,
In logshipping,Generally you can take the full backup of Source Database and But in Target Server is not possible to take the full backup,As you know already Restoring means the database is not accessible. Standby means it is read-only( but users can query it – except when a log backup is being restored.)
But full back up is not possible in Target Server Database.

Thanks for the reply.
As usual around here, it's not been thought through at all. :).
Cheers.
