Does anybody understand how Data Protector - the hp backup app works?
I'm having issue wrt backups on a cluster following a DP upgrade.
It's only affected my clustered, not standalone servers.
It seems like DP checks to see if my db is log shipped, if so, it runs sp_help_log_shipping_monitor on my remote monitor. This spawns an msdtc.exe process on the remote monitor that is then blocked by my firewall.
Unblocking will presumably fix but I have some gaps in my knowledge of how the above works. If anyone is able to elaborate or point me in the direction of some info I would be eternally grateful.
