Hi All,
I have been trying to send ssrs report to users via email and i followed all the rules like configuring email settings like below:
Sender Address: User@Domain.com
Current SMTP Delivery Method: Use SMTP Server
SMTP Server: 10.5.8.50
and created new subscription to send it to myself first but i am getting this error:
Failure sending mail: The report server has encountered a configuration error. Mail will not be resent.
So i looked into logs and i got this:

The report is working manually but it is failing to send email.
In MSDN books online they say "The Report Server service must have Send As permissions on the SMTP server". I don't know how to set this. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Also, Please let me know what exactly i am doing wrong..
Any help pleaseeee?

Does your Reporting Services Server have permissions to communicate with your SMTP Relay Server?
- Maybe a better question is, has this worked before or first time setting up email?

This is the first time i have set up email settings in SSRS and trying to send email. So, SSRS needs to have permission on that SMTP server?

I have contacted my admin and he said that any server which is hitting the SMTP server should be able to send mail because there are no restrictions for that SMTP server.

I got the email by setting up the service account under report server configuration manager.
