SSRS 2008r2 not able to deploy a report though all other reports in solution work. rsaccessdenied

  • I have a solution with 13 reports. 11 reports deploy fine. 2 of them do not. I have done everything i can think of as far as permissions and roles, but can not get these 2 reports to deploy. They used to deploy fine before switching our domain. I believe that i had restricted permissions as well for these reports in the past so that they didn't inherit from the parent. This is the error that i receive:

    Deploying to http://subversion/reportserver

    Deploying report '/tpms/Employee Hours'.

    Error rsAccessDenied : The permissions granted to user 'ASNTPDC1\boutwater' are insufficient for performing this operation.

    Deploy complete -- 1 errors, 0 warnings

    ========== Build: 1 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 0 skipped ==========

    ========== Deploy: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========

    I think it is because the only permissions that they have is my old domain username. The problem is, i can't add my new domain username since I can't see these reports in the report server manager. Is there some way to remove these old reports and deploy new? Or is there some way to give my new username permissions to the old reports?

  • Are all the reports deploying to the same folder on the report server?

    It isn't clear, at least not to me, if this is an initial deploy or if you are making changes and overwriting existing reports. I'm assuming that you are overwriting existing reports.

    1. Can you manage the reports on the report server? Go to the report server, right-click on one of the problem reports and select Manage.

    2. Then you can try to upload the RDL directly from there or you can delete the problem reports from there.

  • Thank you for the reply. I figured out that the 2 reports that were having problems where only managable by people on our old domain...therefore i couldn't see them from the report manager. I had to get on with it locally (on the server where ssrs was installed) with the administrator logon. Then I was able to give myself on the new domain access.
