How do you make an FTP connection save the password?

I just discovered that the password is saved automatically. It just looks as if it's blank when you examine the connection again.

Sorry for the noise.

Hello trapnell,

In SSIS, when you use a FTP Connection first time you have to enter a password for your ftp server, after then it get automatically configured to ssis package and you need not to provide it again.

Also if you create a configuration file for your SSIS package which contain a FTP task you have to provide the password in the config (.xml file) once, by default while generating the configuration file SSIS make it bank.

Now if you want to get rid of typing the password again and agian , then simply you can use the text file in which you provide your credentials and commands of FTP Server and then use Execute Process Task instead of FTP

Using this alternative you have only to mention one time and then rest the process will handle.

For more details you can contact me.

Thanks....:-)
