Install SSRS on some standalone server and create or point SSRS DB’s on to Active node

  Hi,

  I got an request to install SSRS.

  We got a cluster N1 [Active node and Passive Node].

  Now they request to install SSRS on some standalone server and create or point SSRS DB’s on to Active node.

  I know in standalone environments we can create SSRS services on one box and SSRS DB’s one some other box. But In my scenario SSRS services on standalone server and report server DB’s on

  active node [On cluster node]. Can we do this ?

  [May be you will say, why can’t I cluster SSRS by installing services on both the nodes. But my scenario is different and they don’t want to cluster SSRS].

  Can you please let me know if you need any other details to resolve this.

  Hi

  this is perfectly possible. The SSRS config doesn't change. SSRS doesn't even know that its databases are on a clustered SQL instance.

  Note that you will need an extra license though!
