I recently created some cheap n nasty scripts to remove replication, restore a database over the old source database, and then reinitialize replication. not great, but should have got the job done.
I didnt sript out recreating and starting the queue reader agent and Im told that its necessary even if i am not using queued updatable subscriptions.
I didnt get to test it out one way or the other, as another team member added the step to add and start the queue reader agent, so i cant investigate further to see whats going on.
Is it true that even in one way transactional replication I require a queue reader agent?
