So I have been on a self-edification kick lately. There are so many big concepts surrounding business disciplines these days its hard to keep track of them all!
So, what I am trying to do (and praying I am not pioneering this!) is get some sort of high level (and possibly hierarchical) outline of the major business disciplines surrounding data in general. I have spent the last few years improving my understanding things like Data Modeling methodology and concepts, DR and High Availability, Data Profiling/Discovery, Master Data Management, Change Management, etc etc.
What I am wondering, is if there is any reference material out there that lists out the major business disciplines surrounding data, and possibly gives at least a rudimentary explanation of each facet.
I feel lately that I need to locate my 'unknown unknowns' as to improve my overall mastery and understanding of things, and I think this is really the direction I need to be going in!
