Getting Error when trying to start the SQL Agent

    I even tried manually through below command

    EXEC XP_SERVICECONTROL 'START','SQLSERVERAGENT'

    StartService() returned error 1053, 'The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.'

    Logon account is fine I check AD, password never expire policy,

    Help is much appreciated,

    Can you check the sql error log and Sqlagent log and post them here to start troubleshooting.

    hi please check sqlagent.exe process is running in taskmgr or not.if it is running

    then kill sqlagent.exe process .

    and try to restart a service.this might work
