SQL STACK DUMP FILE

  • SQL has created a stack dump file of 2.5 GB I have copied the file elsewhere is it OK for it to be deleted from it;s original location I need the space.

If not it won't open in note pad it;s too big what can I open it up in to delete the contents.

  • If you're not going to analyse it (in a debugger) or send it to product support, delete it.

  • Thanks thought so. as the file could be copied, but no harm in being cautious around a production server.
