  • Nice question ....

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

  • Good question. Thanks for posting it.

  • Great question, but it would good to mention that HTTP,SOAP was deprecated in SQL Server 2008 R2 and ultimately removed in SQL 2012.

  • Nice question. Missed it as I mistakenly used the BOL entry for 2012. Went straight for HTTP SOAP as the incorrect answer. Doh! At least I learned something, which is the purpose of QOTD. Thanks.

    Originally deprecated in SQL 2008.

  • Great question.

I remembered that OAP/HTTP endpoints were deprecated in sql 2008, saw that one on the list, and assumed that was it. Careless of me, as it didn't get dropped until sql 2012.

  • Nice question. Got caught on the HTTP/SOAP option as well.

As did I: always check the SQL version of the BOL page that you're reading. A very good lesson to learn since this isn't the first time that I've found myself looking at behaviour of a different SQL Server version than I was actually using...:(

  • Another one, caught by the HTTP:SOAP deprecation, nice question though.
