Better Backups

  • Steve, Looks like an incorrect option is chosen as the right one. Needs modification.

    Question is very good though.

  • Nice Stuff.

  • Yep, the question says to limit I/O as answer when clearly (even in the explanation) you want to limit CPU. Should be A and D.

  • The answer and the explanation contradicts each other (for the 2nd option, answer says C but explanation says D). I chose A & D, which are supposed to be the correct answers, but was told wrong.

Having said that, I never thought of using the Resource Governor to reduce the impact of backup to the production system, so good question, made me have to look up BOL.

  • Good question, but wrong answer. Should be "Enable backup compression" and "Create a user that is classified into a limited CPU workload group in Resource Governor"

  • wrong answer A & C !

When we enable compression we increase the cpu load and decrease the io load as we need less space for saving beckup. So we must use Resource Governor with limited cpu resource pool.

    Right answer are A & D.

PS Give me back my point !:-D

    +1

    Thanks,

  • I have not as mutch points to just loose one! 😀 😛

  • Good question (it's often a challenge to achieve both - space & performance), but it looks like the mapping of the options and the answers is incorrect.

    The correct answer is A & D, not A & C.

    Any chance of corrections?

  • I'm in the majority - 85% wrong so far!

  • Yeah. Option A and D are the correct one. Although a very good question.

  • Hmm, I hope it's not wrong as I interpreted the answers to be A and C

  • I was almost sure that my options "Enable backup compression" and "Create a user that is classified into a limited CPU workload group in Resource Governor" were right. Resource Governor deals with CPU and memory not I/O on disks, right?
