SSRS 2008 R2 - print problem

  • What has to be done in Report Properties besides specifying page dimensions

(e.g. 8.5 by 11 vs. 11 by 8.5) so that when you click on the print icon and select a printer?

When I do the above, the program hangs and a pop-up which claims it's printing page 1.

And then if I try to Cancel the printing (after it's hung for half an hour) it aborts SSRS.

But it doesn't actually go out of the mix ... just hangs in limbo until I abort with Task Manager.

(I was told that one needs to do some kind of set-up with the icon next to the Export icon. But I was having to re-do that every time I opened the Preview. And we certainly don't want the users to have to be doing that, so I think it makes more sense to embed print attributes.)

  • Did you find any solution for this? I am having same issue with SSRS 2008 R2. Can't print anything on printer. It just hangs. Don't know whether it's virus program running on my pc or OS (Win 7 64-Bit) or some other service running creates this problem. I never had an issue on SSRS 2008 though!

    Thanks.

  • Turns out the problem is I wasn't aware of SSRS's toggle. Before a report can be printed the toggle must be clicked on to switch from input to output mode.

If I remember right, it's the "Print Layout" icon, immediately to the right of the "Print" icon.

    I hope this helps.
