Error: Initializing SQL Server Reconcilier has failed

  • Hello, i have a problem when i try to syncronize with sql server replication.

    the error is:

Error 29045 Initializing SQL Server Reconcilier has failed. Try Again

    the HResult code is: 2147198719

in the sqlcesa LOG appear the following lines:

    2010/12/28 11:50:11 Thread=148C RSCB=2 Command=SCHK Hr=80045901 ERR:Initialize failed for DistributorSessionID = 0

    2010/12/28 11:50:11 Thread=148C RSCB=2 Command=SCHK Hr=00004E74 The process could not connect to Distributor 'mercurio'. 20084

2010/12/28 11:50:11 Thread=148C RSCB=2 Command=SCHK Hr=00000000 Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection 0

The SQL Server database is in a Windows Server 2008 machine. 64 bits

The IIS is in a Windows Server 2003 machine 32 bits

I tried with regenerate the snapshot, restart IIS, run the job "Reinitialize subscriptions having data validation failures", disable distribution and enable it again. but anything of that works.

Any ideas? Is my 3 day with this issue 🙁

  • Per the error messages, the "mercurio" server isn't responding to a login request. Is that server up and running? Does it respond to a ping?

  • Hello GSquared, thanks for answer

Yes, the server is running, in fact it has some applications running on IIS and it's open to public.

The user i am using for authentication in sql server is correct. I have verified it lot of times.

The syncronization was working correctly few days ago but now it does not work without apparent cause.

  • Check the server logs on mercurio. Something changed, you just need to find what.

Maybe there's been a patch you don't know about. Maybe a firewall setting was changed. Lots of possibilities. Checking the logs will probably help narrow down the things to check.

  • Hello GSquared

unfortunately i only can see the past tree days and there is nothing related with this issue.

any other ideas about this? maybe something in the configuration?

  • Not really. I'd pretty much just be poking around and talking to my network people at this point.
