FREE! SQL Scripts Manager – a Christmas gift from Red Gate

  • Wow! I love gifts!

This one looks pretty cool. I love the idea of a "script wiki" and the possibility to add some scripts of mine.

I coded something amazingly similar to this some years ago and I still use it.

I have to say that adding a new script is a bit cumbersome, but still like the idea behind. A GUI tool for this task would be great. Also, an import tool that searches the "magic scripts" folder that each DBA keeps jealously would be very appreciated.

I don't like the "tag" thing very much, I would have preferred something that could be organized hierarchically (works better IMHO with lots of scripts).

Great tool, anyway. I installed it 1 hour ago and I already love it.

    Well done!

  • I must be doing something wrong. I downloaded the scriptsmanager.zip file from the link but when I try to extract the scripts there are no files present in the zip file. Obviously other people have successfully gotten the scripts. Anyone else having an issue?

Under the zip file you have an exe file, and all you need to do is click-click the file and installing as usually next next next ... nothing else, you will find it under the All Programs at the Start menu!

Don't forget, it can be possible that your antivirus is biting off your exe file after the extract!

Once again the link to download it is here >>> http://is.gd/jiFGf

  • Thanks for the quick reply Dugi. My problem is that there is no exe file to extract from the zip file. It's a shame. They sound like some great scripts I could learn alot from. This is the error msg I get when I try to open the zip file.

    ---------------------------

    Compressed (zipped) Folders Error

    ---------------------------

The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted.

    ---------------------------

    OK

  • Thank you. Wonderful free toolset. This will make my daily life little easier.

  • I'm having the same problem. it tells me the zip file is corrupted or empty. I use some of these scripts, and have a few of my own, that I embedded in my own app. Hopefully, this will be a good tool to consolidate my scripts.

I'm not sure if you have problem with your zip, but you can try the another alternative using the WinRar[/url], so install the rar application than try to unrar, WinRar is the cool application that will allow you to work also with zip files!
