Hello
I have a spreadsheet which consist of a list of all SQL servers.Can someone help me with trick or script to register a list of SQL server from a spreadsheet/txt file to management studio.
Register/connect all the SQL server one by one is time consuming when I have a list of 300+ SQL servers to manage them remotely.

Well in Management Studio, under the Registered Servers window, you can right click on a folder, go to tasks and import a file, which will do the registering. For the format of the file, you may have to export a Server and test.

learned something new today; thanks graham; didn't even know about the Registered Servers panel until this post. lots of options like automatic discovery of all servers on the network and stuff.

If you're using SSMS 2008, there is another neat trick. In the Registered Servers panel, make separate folders for each logical (to you) group. Then, you can right-click the group, select "New Query", and a query window opens up connected to all of the servers. Run something like "SELECT @@ServerName", and you'll get responses from all of the servers.
